UMT Celebrates GUAU's 9th Anniversary and Strengthens Alumni Ties in Hong Kong

The University of Management and Technology (UMT) proudly congratulates the Global Universities Alumni Union (GUAU) on the successful celebration of its 9th anniversary. The milestone was marked with the Ninth Annual Dinner held in Hong Kong on April 14, 2025, drawing numerous alumni leaders, distinguished guests, and notable public figures.

Among the attendees were former Secretary for Education Mr. Eddie Ng Hak-kim, several Legislative Council members, and renowned academics and professionals from various sectors. The evening served as a platform to honor GUAU's achievements in connecting and empowering alumni communities across Hong Kong and beyond.

UMT's Hong Kong Alumni Association (UMTHKAA), a founding member of GUAU, continues to play a leading role in advancing the union's mission. Under the leadership of Dr. Cheung Kwong Hung, who also serves as GUAU President, UMTHKAA has been instrumental in promoting cross-border educational and professional exchanges.

In a congratulatory letter to Dr. Hung, UMT President Dr. Yanping Chen commended GUAU's contributions and reaffirmed UMT's commitment to fostering alumni-driven collaboration:

"The University of Management and Technology (UMT) supports GUAU's vision and mission to unite Hong Kong alumni associations of local and overseas universities to promote knowledge and talent to benefit Hong Kong society and the local community."

Dr. Chen also highlighted the university's active alumni network in the region, with over 5,700 UMT alumni and students currently residing in Hong Kong. UMT encourages these alumni to participate in GUAU's initiatives and continue contributing their talents to the global UMT community.

UMT's ongoing engagement with UMTHKAA and GUAU reflects the university's broader dedication to supporting alumni-driven innovation, community service, and international collaboration.
