reminded the graduates to not only celebrate the achievement
of earning a degree but to also remember that it was the decision
to attend UMT and apply the mind to study that had brought everyone
to commencement day. He also challenged the graduates to make
good choices on what to do with the degree and knowledge gained. Mr. James J. Johnson, who completed three
degrees with UMT, recounted his journey from a youth who didn’t
take school seriously, to becoming an experienced Army contractor
without the education that validated his work experience, to
achieving this validation by earning his degrees from UMT while
fulfilling a demanding job that requires frequent travels. Mr. Francis J. Piacine, a UMT faculty member
who received a Master of Science in Management from UMT, thanked
UMT for providing a veteran-friendly environment and innovative
quality instruction, praised the quality of the UMT students
and encouraged graduates to: "Seek to produce outputs of high value that benefit the people you love and the
world around you." Dr. Chen, UMT's founder and President, reviewed
the university’s achievements over the past 17 years since it
